John Pluta uses clay combined with found objects to make sculptures of imaginary people, animals, and various what-have-yous. John and his wife, Holly, own Noon Whistle Pottery, a shop representing 200 American artisans. They also started and continue to organize the Virginia Clay Festival.

The Artisans Studio Tour is an annual open studio tour, featuring high quality artisans and their work during the weekend of November 7 & 8, 2016. Some of Virginia’s finest crafts will be on display, including pottery, furniture, weaving, fabric design, jewelry, stained glass, wood turning, and quilting.
