Alejandra Gonzalez is an emerging jewelry designer and maker. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, she pursued art studies in the U.S. and graduated with honors from Longwood University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in craft with a concentration in metals. She has supplemented her undergrad education by attending professional courses at different craft schools around the U.S.

Currently, Alejandra works as a bench jeweler for a fine jewelry retail store and dedicates most of her free time to designing and making her own jewelry collection in her studio in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Her artistic process began when she was a child during frequent visits to art museums in Caracas, a city that had an incredible art scene in the past. From an early age, Alejandra was exposed to a broad range of art and artists, which has had a direct influence on her designs.

Her work is characterized by asymmetrical shapes, elegant compositions, and a minimalistic approach.

Alejandra has exhibited in group exhibitions in the Junior Show at Longwood University, the Senior Exhibition “Point of departure,” and at the Working Artist Exhibition at the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts in Farmville, Virginia.
