Richard Gordon started Phineas Rose Wood Joinery in the early 1970s, influenced by his grandfather, an eighth-generation furniture maker. He now continues to design and build furniture with his son, Alec. Each contemporary design is constructed with mortise-and-tenon and dovetail joinery techniques, using traditional hand wood joinery tools. Each piece is then hand-rubbed with tung oil in a two-month polishing process.
