The textured surfaces and marks from the making process are accented with bright, vibrant ash glazes. All of the work is wheel thrown or handbuilt and we try to achieve an integration of form and surface in making pieces to enhance the rituals of daily living. Now she carves wax and primarily casts in silver. Over a hundred pendants/small sculptures have been birthed in her Nelson County studio. The collection reflects a fascination and study of multi-cultural symbols and archetypes. Because the images are inspired by life’s challenges, triumphs and transitions, they often evoke emotional responses from viewers, wearers, and givers. These days she enjoys hearing others use words such as talisman, amulet, medallion, totem and charm to describe the pendants.

studio no. 17

address: 190 Rockfish School Lane (Rockfish Valley Community Center),
Afton, VA 22920

phone: 434-361-2128

email: info@krobinsdesigns.com

website: www.krobinsdesigns.com

facebook: www.fb.com/k.robins.designs

nancy ross

Nancy Ross produces a line of functional stoneware with some one-of-a-kind pieces.
