Nancy Hopkins has always had a deep hunger for making things, but it took her 20 years to decide to leave her systems analyst career and dive head first into the creative world. She got her first taste of metalsmithing in art class in middle school. Many years later it has become her passion. She uses precious metals to create contemporary jewelry and accessories for women and men who enjoy the beauty and individuality of handmade items. Nancy finds inspiration in all things geometric whether they are harsh repeating patterns or slowly arching forms. Her designs tend to be sleek, with graceful, flowing curves. Each piece is made with the wearer in mind. Nancy shares a studio in downtown Charlottesville with five other metalsmiths and a mixed media artist.
